šŸŽƒ Newton Trick-or-Treat Heatmap

See which parts of Newton will have the most candy on Halloween night.

Every signup adds a little glow, and patches get brighter as more neighbors sign up. Small, bright patches are busy blocks. Large, faint patches cover wider areas with fewer households, shown loosely on purpose to protect privacy.

Step 1. Start typing your address and pick it from the list, or just tap the map near your home. You don’t need to be exact.

Step 2. Confirm and add your house. The shaded box on the map is the area that will be saved.

Privacy: your spot is rounded to an area about 200 m wide in your browser, and only that rounded area is sent and saved. No names or addresses are collected or stored. Busy blocks only appear once 3 or more households are there. Quieter areas show only as larger, faint patches about 1 km wide, so no one’s home can be located. If you use the address box, what you type is sent to the Photon search service (by Komoot, using OpenStreetMap data) to suggest matches. Tapping the map instead avoids that.
